Megan is a Registered Clinical Counsellor and a Nature Therapist who specializes in working with non-traditional networks and individuals who have experienced trauma and/or abuse related to religion, identity, and expression of self. Megan works from an anti-oppressive framework and offers sex-positive, kink-friendly, non-monogamous and polyamorous relationship counselling.

As a long time resident of the Coast Salish Territories / Vancouver, I recognize the common pull to the community, connection, and opportunity that this city may offer. With the surge of development in Vancouver, many people are expressing a growing need to get away from the noise, and to find a quiet, less tread upon space to re-energize.

Before my career as a therapist I worked as a tour manager, where I guided thousands of people around the world. I guided clients on extensive multi-day/week journeys through areas including Canada's Rocky Mountains, Alaska's Arctic, China's Yangtze River, and Switzerland's Alps. Through my years living abroad, I developed a realization of the interconnectedness of all parts of nature, including us humans. My guiding experience very naturally flowed into a desire to facilitate more meaningful journeys and therapeutic retreat for individuals seeking a more natural balance.

As the Nature Therapist for Wild Root Journeys, I facilitate Inner Journeys and nature retreats for individuals and groups who seek to connect more deeply with themselves, and with nature. I support my clients, many of whom live within city limits, to learn how to simply and safely take pause from the busyness of brimming schedules, and to incorporate a reconnection to these living spaces. This restorative pause seems to have a calming, grounding effect for many people, whether it be 4 minutes under a Cherry Blossom Tree, or 4 days on a sea kayaking journey.

I believe that our healing often arrives as we become aware that we are not alone; we are nature.

I am an Approved Counsellor for the Crime Victim Assistance Program through the B.C. Ministry of Justice.
